If you’re writing a blog regularly and want to earn a little cash on the side, then have a look at the following three options.

It isn’t rocket science to learn how to monetise your blog. It’s simply a matter of choosing one or two methods, and here are the 3 ways I think are the best and easiest.

1. Affiliate Marketing.

This tried, and true method has been on the internet for as long as I can remember. It is you selling a product on behalf of a supplier and getting a percentage of the sale.

The beauty of this is that you don’t need to hold stock, all the hard work is done for you, and you just need to place an advert somewhere on the blog post page.

To find the right products, you will need to sign up with an affiliate network. There are many different ones out there. These are the ones I’ve dealt with:

Clickbank – this company focuses on digital information products. Go to Clickbank

Amazon Associates – obviously anything sold on Amazon. Go to Amazon Associates

ShareASale – For both digital and physical products. Go to ShareASale

AliExpress – physical products. Go to AliExpress

2. AdSense.

This is a program by Google. It is where you place Google ads onto your blog, getting rewarded each time someone clicks the link. Unlike the Affiliate style, the reader doesn’t need to purchase anything; just simply click the link.

Google offers you different styles for displaying the ads and generally tries to give advertisements in harmony to your website.

It also offers auto-setup, which is extremely easy. However, my advice is to use the manual setup function because it gives you control over where the ads go. By the way, if you have a WordPress blog, there is a free plugin, “Advanced Ads”, that does the hard work for you.

3. Email marketing.

Along with the above two suggestions you can also offer a newsletter. In these, you send out updates from your niche, perhaps some tips, and this is where you can give exclusive deals if you have a product or service to sell.
You can also use these emails to promote your affiliate product.

You will need to setup a email responder and the free one I recommend is MailerLite.

To help attract people to your mailing list, offer a free PDF download perhaps some tips on your niche.

And if you want to be kind to a fellow blogger, if you see a Google ad in an article, give it a click (remember, you don’t have to buy) to support the author.
