How can you even begin saving time with your social media when it’s like the proverbial rabbit hole drags you down and you end up spending way more time than you wanted to on useless information.
Don’t you just love it when you decide to post something on Facebook or LinkedIn, and suddenly, a post catches your eye, and before you know it, half an hour has slipped by?
Saving time with social media is one of the great challenges facing busy entrepreneurs. We all know we need to be visible on these platforms. But the test is can we whip in, do the posts, comments and likes and nip out again within a specific timeframe?
Of course, you can!
And here’s how you do it.
- Be Prepared.
Social media is like any other part of your business. It’s all about the preparation. So how do you do that? You begin by having your post/s already written out, hashtags included if you use them and graphic (image) ready. Then you log into your account, and the first this you do is copy and paste your post and click publish.
- Set a Timer.
Setting a timer has to be the best way to save time on your social media! Before I started with a timer, wow, the time I lost as I scrolled the different platforms. So, allocate time in your diary, and set the timer for whatever amount you wish to spend. Reply to any comments on your posts first before scrolling and being social with others.
When the timer goes off – LEAVE!
If you are in groups, allow five minutes to go in to post and comment. Having the post ready will also save you time, but again, set the timer.
- Schedule.
Another way of saving time is to schedule posts. You can set up your posts for a week (I wouldn’t do it for longer unless you are going away on holiday). Also, use the ‘Be Prepared’ method. More information on scheduling you’ll find here: Best Scheduling Apps
To give you a bit of a hand, download this free Word document as a template for your post planning. (It’s very basic but will help.)
Now, set your timer and off you go to social media.
