When you set on the path of building your business, one of the first things you should do is look at how you want to show up to the outside world.
With this in mind, once you have the product/service, the beginning is looking at the mission statement, vision statement, road map, business message, or whatever you want to call it. The mission statement establishes your ethics, another essential part of your identity and how you want to be seen.
Next is getting a logo, a website, choosing colours and themes that will set your business apart from the rest.
Take a look at some of the mega brands. Coca Cola, McDonald’s, Google, Walt Disney, Amazon etc. They all have three things in common, and these are what you should strive to have also.
- Brand logo
- Brand colours
- Brand service.
But, it doesn’t stop there.
Once you have established the visuals and services of your brand, it is time to put it out there into the marketplace.
Now comes the consistency.
Take McDonald’s as an example. Wherever you see an advertisement, a promotion, a social media post, you will always see the logo and the brand colours used. You recognise immediately who it is and what they stand for.
This next part is important.
All your social media posts and advertisements need to be distinguishable as your business, your brand. So using your logo and your colours every time you put yourself in front of the public brings you closer to being an authority in your field. (obviously, you must have quality service/product as well!).
Below is an image from a fun social media post I did recently. As you can see, my graphics are in my brand colours, brand font, and my logo is there in full view. I add my website URL in some graphics, but I will leave it off others that are simple social posts.
