If you rely on platforms for attracting clients/customers, you have to ask yourself whether or not you should do live videos on your social media platforms.

Social Media has now been around since early 2000, and I’m sure we’ve all seen the shifts and changes during that time.

But it’s not over yet. These platforms will continue to change as people demand more variety and better interaction.

We’ve all seen the rise of video spaces like Snap Chat or Tick Tock, and no doubt you’ve seen YouTube announcing Premier and telling you to “Set Reminder.”

For business owners, going live is still a relatively new thing but one that is gaining momentum. Your audience loves the idea that they can ‘converse’ with you in real-time and not have to rely on replies to their comments.

Statistically, the pre-taped video gets the highest engagement figures. However, live video is now becoming quite the game-changer, and savvy marketing strategies will include live broadcasts in their social media planning.

When Facebook introduced live streaming capability from smartphones, it made a real difference for several reasons, two of which stood out as top.

  • You can go live from anywhere, which can be a huge advantage.
  • Your audience accesses the information immediately.

This means that you can create a stronger rapport with your followers and reach a broader audience.

Facebook’s algorithm ranks a live video higher than anything else in a person’s news feed. So if you are doing lives, those videos have a 148% higher organic reach than any other post type.

Now, obviously, if you created a production type of video, you can do as many takes as you want to get it right. With the live version, you don’t have that option. But, and this is the good bit, people watching will connect more with you when you’re live because they see it as being genuinely you. This forms a level of trust which is more likely to convert into business for you.

Live streaming gives you a more intimate space and a chance to interact with your audience. Of course, you can share those lives with those who missed out or with those wanting to see it again.
