You want to get to a point where getting up in the morning is exciting, and you look forward to getting stuck into business.


This post will give you 5 tips for setting up a productive day, and it all starts with getting out of bed in the morning.

It begins the night before.

  1. Before going to bed. Set up the following day’s work schedule. Block out time for the different jobs that need doing. This way you will have a better night’s sleep as you won’t be worrying about all the things you have to do.
  2. When you first put your feet on the floor, say an affirming affirmation. For example: “Today is a completely new start.” “I am deserving of everything I desire” or “I welcome new beginnings and positive opportunities with open arms.” “I am creating a beautiful life for myself and my loved ones.”
  3. Move. If the weather permits, go for a morning walk. Get into nature if you can; perhaps there is a park nearby. A morning walk is also a great time to listen to a motivational, inspirational or learning podcast that also helps set you up for the day.
  4. Enjoy a glass of warm lemon water. Preferably use fresh lemon if you can. The benefits are many. Lemons provide ample nutrients, but they also assist the immune system, help to flush out toxins and give you an energy boost. Lukewarm water is optimal.
  5. Take time for yourself. This can be in the form of meditation, yoga or even taking 20-30 minutes reading. You want to be in the present moment and not let your thoughts be dashing into the future work you have to do.

Getting into the habit of doing these 5 tips will definitely improve your mindset and set you up for the productive day ahead. Of course, you can switch these out for what works best for you.
